LinkU2

LinkU2 is an ambitious concept in community connectivity for local businesses and groups that uses a range of tools for engagement including events, radio, web and print. The concept needed to be flexible to enable it to be used throughout New Zealand towns and cities. Our first challenge was to create a design system that could incorporate place names as diverse as Gore and Palmeston North within the same structure. It needed to be fresh and friendly whilst having a distinctly Web 2.0 feel to it (think Facebook and Twitter identities).
The use of the linking "smile" as the holder for names, categories and promotions and strong iconic graphics has given the system a distinctiveness which is both readily identifiable and approachable.
The tag line "go local, grow local" is a rallying cry to encourage local trade and support for both businesses and community groups.

Web
With extensive content to handle, the website design adopts a structured layout whilst keeping a consistent look and feel.A five column grid gives maximum flexibility. The icon family has been extended and applied to a wide range of categories.

Print and vehicle graphics
A wide range of print and promotional elements were created and used for the launch out into the local market. The car graphics are bright and bold and have certainly been a head turner on the Hibiscus Coast!

Audio
Local radio station Times FM created a friendly jingle for advertising that focuses on the Go local, Grow Local positioning.
