Smart Builder Case study

The Smart Builder product suite is a range of software aimed at the commercial glass market and crosses showers, balustrades and shopfronts.

Our challenge was to first come up with a brand name and identity system that captured the expert nature of the product but which also enabled dot com domain names to be established, as the majority of the customer base is outside of New Zealand.

We created a naming structure that used "smart" together with the product descriptor under a master brand of "smart builder", and were able to acquire the dot com extensions for each.

The corporate identity uses an owl and transparent layers to bring together the "smart" nature of the product as well as connecting back to glass which is at the heart of the software solution.

Our design extended widely into a range of product literature, print advertising, packaging design and Expo event elements. Over several years we have produced Expo materials for major events in Germany and other parts of Europe, our work covering the concept and graphic components for the large stands as well as flash file DVD's.

We designed the smart builder website in line with the identity system and which the company hosts and manages in-house.
